Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on South-South Mobilization, Hon. Abu Micheal, has rallied massive support for the second term bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, as Ijaw Communities resident in Kogi State declared total and unalloyed loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Abu Micheal, who also doubles as President of South-South States Residents in Kogi State, stated this in Lokoja during a strategic solidarity meeting with leaders and stakeholders of the Ijaw Communities drawn from Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Edo States resident across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State on Sunday.
The meeting, which was attended by the Acting Secretary of Southerners in Kogi, Hon. Kingsley Oshilim, and other grassroots Coordinators, was convened to appreciate the Ijaw Communities for their grassroots mobilization and to consolidate support for the Renewed Hope Agenda at the federal level and the consolidation agenda of Governor Ododo in Kogi State.
In his address, Hon. Abu Micheal lauded the Ijaw Communities for their impressive organization, political consciousness and commitment to the success of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo. He noted that the people of the South-South have shown uncommon dedication through door-to-door mobilization and community engagement aimed at ensuring victory for the APC in 2027.
He expressed deep appreciation for their open endorsement of President Tinubu, Governor Ododo and all APC candidates, describing it as a vote of confidence on inclusive governance.
According to the Special Adviser, Governor Ododo has redefined leadership with an all-inclusive template that has given every resident, irrespective of tribe or origin, a sense of belonging, security and participation in the affairs of the state, while President Tinubu’s reforms have repositioned Nigeria for economic recovery and sustainable growth.
Speaking on behalf of the Ijaw Communities, Mr. ThankGod Sergeant said the sense of belonging and recognition given to the people of the South-South in Kogi State under the present administration is worthy of commendation and unprecedented.
Mr. Sergeant disclosed that the Ijaw people residing in Kogi have made up their minds to reward the inclusive administration of Governor Ododo and the visionary leadership of President Tinubu with massive votes.
He said, “For many years we have lived in Kogi, but never have we felt this level of recognition and inclusion as we are feeling today. Governor Ododo has given us a voice, he has given us a place in his government, and he has ensured our safety and welfare. President Tinubu has also shown that he is a father to all. What we are witnessing is a government that listens to the yearnings and aspirations of our people. For us in the Ijaw Communities, our decision is settled. It is Tinubu and Ododo all the way. We will repay this inclusive leadership with 100 percent votes for APC from our polling units to the ward level.”
He further assured that the Ijaw Communities, known for their loyalty and steadfastness once they take a position, will not disappoint, stressing that they have activated their grassroots structures across the state to deliver overwhelmingly for the APC.
Also speaking, Hon. Kingsley Oshilim, Acting Secretary of Southerners in Kogi State, commended Hon. Abu Micheal for his bridge-building capacity and for uniting all Southern residents into one formidable political force. He affirmed that Southerners in Kogi are now speaking with one voice and are fully committed to the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.
The meeting climaxed with a unanimous motion of endorsement for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections, followed by solidarity songs and chants for continuity.
The stakeholders vowed to intensify mobilization across all Ijaw settlements and South-South communities in Kogi State to ensure a resounding victory for the APC.
