The general objective of setting up the Ministry of Rural Development is to Provide, support and maintain, in collaboration and partnership with government ministries, departments, agencies and other partners, essential public facilities and services (such as water and sewer systems, housing, health clinics, rural feeder roads, emergency service facilities and electric power) that will improve the economy, welfare, infrastructure and quality of life in rural areas.
