Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo has earned fresh commendation for breaking another long‑standing jinx in Kogi Local Government Area. The Gegu Beki Water Scheme—popularly known as the Bi‑Water—had remained abandoned for over a decade after its original construction by the late former Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Adamu Attah. In a remarkable turnaround, Governor Ododo’s administration successfully rehabilitated and restored the scheme to full operation.
Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu, highlighted that the water system had been out of service for ten years due to mechanical faults. “But thanks to the Governor’s love and commitment to the people, the scheme has been revived,” he said.
Speaking on the achievement, Engr. Gegu added, “We use this opportunity to thank our tireless Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Chief Servant of Kogi State. The rehabilitation of Gegu Beki Water Scheme showcases our dedication to delivering essential services and improving the quality of life for our citizens.”
He further affirmed that the administration’s focus on reliable water supply reflects the Governor’s unrelenting passion for development and welfare across the state. Looking ahead, the Commissioner declared that by 2027 the people of Kogi LGA have already spoken—APC and Governor Ododo will be the beneficiaries, making the area a “no‑go” zone for any other party.
