SOKOTO RE-RUN: NSCDC Gallant Role Ensures Peaceful Re-run Election


 

The Just Concluded 15th April 2023 rescheduled National assembly elections in Sokoto State wouldn’t have been possible without the role Played by all the security agencies in the state, expecially the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp, NSCDC.

 

It would be recalled that the elections which was first held on 25th February 2023 was Cancelled by the Nation’s Election umpire the independent National electoral Commission,INEC arrising from alleged irregularities from various pulling units across some local government areas.

This irregularities Subsequently just like in many other States across the federation, led to the Cancellation and rescheduling 15th of April for a supplementary Election.

However, ahead of the Supplementary elections, Security Preparations were made not just to effect a Peaceful but also for a free, fair and Credible Election that would be accepted by all parties involved not just in Sokoto State but the entire Country in general.

While Speaking with some Journalists in his Office, The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, NSCDC,Mr Bello Alkali Argungu disclosed how prepared his Command was and ready to ensure a peaceful and Credible election Process in the state.

While he appealed to the State electorates to turn out enmass to cast their votes for the Candidate of their Choice,he equally warned those who had wanted to forment trouble to Stay away or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.

Having taken this result oriented step to ensure a hitch free election Process,he further pledge Collaborative working relationship and Synergy with other Sisters agencies in the state, particularly the Nigeria Police force while the elections lasted.

The Supplementary elections National assembly elections only took place in all the three senatorial district as well as the ten out of the eleven federal Constituencies in the state.
