… Calls for sustainable TETFUND support
It was a beehive of activities today as the Federal University Lokoja today witnessed commissioning of projects at its temporary and permanent Campuses.
Performing the Commissioning, the Pro Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council, Federal University Lokoja, Sen. Dr. Chris Adighije described the infrastructural development ongoing in the Institution as a silent revolution, described the feat as a great leap that would make the institution world class.
The Pro Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council, Federal University Lokoja, Sen. Dr. Chris Adighije made the disclosure at the official inauguration of the FUL Printing Press at the College of Health Sciences, Adankolo Campus of the University.
Similarly, the Chairman Governing Council also Commissioned a synage, ring roads within the academic area and also planted trees in the institution, disclosed that even the blind will see the huge and giant leap in progress and infrastructure development on going at the Federal University Lokoja.
The Chairman Governing Council commended the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi for the positive growth and quantum leap the Federal University Lokoja is witnessing, lauded his efforts that has placed the institution on a sound footing.
The Chancellor expressed satisfaction that the FUL is witnessing the positive transformation in infrastructure development, attributed the growth to the Vice Chancellor for working assiduously to meet the dreams and aspirations that led to the establishment of the University.
The Chairman Governing Council lauded the great leap the FUL has witnessed, described it as the handiwork of the Vice Chancellor pointing out that he has proven to be an ebullient transformer.
On the lingering ASUU strike, the Chairman sympathised with students , ASUU members and government, described the unfortunate situation as a process in the nation’s development, expressed optimism that very soon the face-off would be a thing of the past, called for patience and understanding from the stakeholders to enable the problem to be solved once and for all.
The Chairman promised the sustained support of TETFUND in supporting infrastructure development of the FUL, said he is a strong advocate for the law establishing TETFUNDP to be looked into and fine turned with the critical stakeholders made to be part of the policy decision. He described TETFUND as a blessing, expressed optimism that it will serve as a better blessing if students, ASUU, and other critical stakeholders are made to be part of the policy markers.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of FUL, Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, described the infrastructure revolution in the institution as divine, pointing out that the institution has learnt to look and think outside the box.
Highlights of the project commissioning was the cutting of tape and tree planting by the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.
The FUL printing press was conceived by the Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi’s administration under a BOT arrangement with Greyhound Digital Printing Press, with Mr. Tunde Adebayo Chairman/CEO of Greyhound Digital Printing Press promising a sustained partnership…. Continue reading
