joshuaSenator Tinubu Feeds Thousands of Cross Riverians Through Renewed Hope Initiative.
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, has held the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Social Investment Programme, which is a food outreach scheme focused on feeding the vulnerable groups in the nation.
In Cross River State, the vulnerable groups who benefitted include wives of fallen heroes, other struggling widows, and the disabled.
The groups which were made up of widows, fallen heroes wives, and members of the Joint National Association of Persons Living with Disabilities received items such as rice, beans, semovita, wheat, pasta, noodles, cereals and lots more.
Speaking at the event, Senator Tinubu, represented by the Second Lady of Nigeria, Hajiya Nana Shettima, detailed the purpose of the scheme.
“We have come here to support families with assorted food items as we have done in some states. The Renewed Hope Initiative Social Investment Scheme is in consonant with the objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda focusing on sustainable production and provision of food for all Nigerians. We encourage beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items for their families.”
Also speaking, the Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Bishop Dr (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Edet Otu, highlighted the importance of the scheme.
“Today, we stand united in purpose to extend our hand of compassion, love, and care to our vulnerable population in Cross River State through the food outreach scheme which is a laudable project by a noble woman whose heart beats for humanity.”
“Your Excellency, the people of Cross River State deeply appreciate this gesture of love and generosity which aligns with our shared vision of building a more inclusive society through touching lives and changing destinies.”
Highlights were cultural dance presentations, and the distribution of the food items to the vulnerable groups, which included Rice, beans, cereals, pasta, noodles, semovita, and lots more.
