Rep Member, Uguru Disburses 10m to youths, Empowers Others With Laptops, Education Materials, Vehicles, Sewing Machines

The member representing Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Emmanuel Uguru, has disbursed over ten million naira to 50 youths drawn from different wards in the constituency to boost their businesses with each of them smiling home with two hundred thousand naira.
The lawmaker also distributed 50, 000 exercise books and bags to schools, 50 laptops to ICT trainees, brand new sewing machines to traditional rulers across the constituency as well two sienna buses to Abakaliki and Izzi LGA FON youths movement coordinators.
The distribution held at Nkaliki, the headquarters of Abakaliki Local Government Area.
Speaking during the event, Chief Uguru said the gestures aligned with the peoples charter of needs mantra of Governor Francis Nwifuru in improving educational, infrastructure and promotion of digital and vocational skills in the State.
According to the lawmaker, the educational materials were distributed to public primary and junior secondary schools across Abakaliki and Izzi LGAs to encourage pupils and students to stay focused on their studies while the laptops were shared to the first batch of beneficiaries of his ICT training programme.
“These laptops are not just devices; they are tools of empowerment, innovation, and self-reliance,” he said, urging beneficiaries to use them for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship”
He also disclosed that over 28 intelligent students from various communities in the constituency have been awarded scholarships to ensure financial constraints do not truncate their academic aspirations.
On infrastructure, Uguru listed completed and ongoing projects to include the construction of classroom blocks at Onweonwiya Village, Mgbalukwu Inyimegu, Ndieborishiagu (Sharon), and Ndiofutulgbegu, all in Izzi LGA; the renovation of Echara Unuhu Primary School in Izzi Unuhu Community; and the construction of Ndieze Inyimegu Unuhu Community Primary School in Abakaliki LGA.
To strengthen grassroots mobilization, Uguru announced the donation of two vehicles to the FON Movement in Abakaliki and Izzi chapters. He said the vehicles would enhance their mobility as they sensitize residents on the policies and programmes of the state government.
He commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and his wife, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, for creating an education-friendly environment in Ebonyi State. He also lauded teachers, school administrators, and community leaders for their contributions to child development.
“This is only one of many steps we have taken and will continue to take in our collective journey toward progress and development,” he assured constituents, adding that he would later give a comprehensive account of his stewardship.
While flagging off the distribution of the items, Governor Nwifuru represented by his SSA on local government and chieftaincy matters Hon. Paul Nwogha extolled the lawmaker for his quality and effective representation and called on the people of the constituency to show support and solidarity to the lawmaker as he continue to pilot the affairs of the constituency.
In their good will messages, the chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba, the vice chairman of Izzi LGA Hon. Helen Aduga applauded the lawmaker for credible performances and urged for sustenance.
They charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items and support received in their own best interest.
