CEDO 4 GYB2PYB support group frowns at the purported statement attributed to one unknown group called APC North Central Council Led by Kassim Muhammed Urging the Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to drop his presidential ambition.
The group in a statement released by the Zonal Coordinator, Patriot Matthew James Avabee said, Zoning is never constitutionally binding, but a decision made freely by members. According to him, no zone has been as marginalised as Northcentral Geo-political zone which over the years can not boast of producing a Vice President Or President. This necessitated a call for a competent leader with a vision for one united Nigeria from the unifying zone for the top job.
Hon. Matthew Avabee however insisted that the call for Gov. Yahaya Bello to participate in the forthcoming presidential election is more than just an ambition, but an outburst borne off the prolonged marginalization of the region which has deprived it from handling such High political offices.
Governor Yahaya Bello’s age, vision, gender sensitivity, security consciousness and outstanding performance in Kogi state stands him out and poses as a few of the many reasons Youths across the Nation are declaring their support for his ambition.
Hon. Matthew Avabee further reiteratated that the course is divine, and has so far attracted great minds who have seen into the future, the promised land and are throwing their weight behind the call for him to contest and replicate his good works at the National level.
He urged the Youths who haven’t bought into this vision to join forces and voices to this very noble course until positive acceptance is recieved from Gov. Yahaya Bello, and “alas the Nigerian transformation we have long envisaged will become a reality”.
” As a democrat, Governor Yahaya Bello has taken his time to make widespread consultations regarding the call of the Youths to rescue the Nation, therefore the decision of zoning can’t be determined by a mere pressure group and by implication, such members can’t dictate the conclusion of a gentlemanly agreement”
“If you are familiar with history, you will know that the position of the National Party chairman belittles the Zone’s Presidential ambition, with a man as foresighted, determined and focused as Gov. Yahaya Bello at the forefront. it is literally an abberation to outrightly advise him to drop his Presidential ambition that has receiveved enormous reception and accolades from all over the country”
