RAMADAN:  ICDA PRESIDENT CALLS FOR SOBER REFLECTION ON THE NEED FOR SACRIFICIAL LEADERSHIP.


 

The President, Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA), Alh. Sadiq Amodu Abubakaar, has called on Nigerian Leaders to imbibe Compassionate and sacrificial leadership for the less privileged, as the tenets and essence of Ramadan Fast.

The ICDA President in a Ramadan Message, said Ramadan Fast should not just be seen as a religious ritual performed by Moslem Faithfuls, but learn and adhere to the values of selfless and sacrificial leadership for the people, as taught by Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W)

He further emphasized that one of the values of the Ramadan Fast is the need for Zakat, which is compulsory giving to the less privileged, should be a sober reflection to consider the poor, especially in the delivery of the goods of political governance and meeting the demands of leadership by the people.

In this vein, the ICDA President, also called on all observers of the Ramadan Fast, to use opportunity of the season to pray for the peace, unity and security of Nigeria, as well as Wisdom to guide our leaders right.

“Coming back home, we should all pray for the successful execution of Governor Yahaya Bello’s tenure, in partnership with his able lieutenant, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja, and all political leaders of the State, at all levels of governance” he asserted in the statement.
