QS AMINU ABUBAKAR SULEIMAN CONSULTS ANKPA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY ON KOGI EAST SENATORIAL ASPIRATION, PRIORITIZES ELECTRICITY AND DEVELOPMENT
Ankpa, Kogi State — QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman has continued consultations with stakeholders and constituents across Kogi East following his declaration to contest for the Kogi East Senatorial seat ahead of the next electoral cycle.
As part of the consultations, QS Suleiman met with stakeholders from Ankpa Federal Constituency, which comprises Ankpa, Omala, and Olamaboro Local Government Areas, where he outlined his vision for legislative representation, grassroots development, and infrastructural transformation.
The consultation meeting, held in Ankpa, attracted political stakeholders, community leaders, professionals, and supporters from across the constituency.
Among those present at the meeting were Hon. Vincent Baba, Hon. Yusuf Omale, Hon. Yusuf Abubakar, Hon. Yunusa Jafaya, Abraham Ogbeja, Hon. Timothy Omora, Hon. Stanley Laliya, Hon. Ojoago, Hon. Akwete, Hon. Barry, Hon. Adan Oguche, Hon. Sule Anaja, Haruna Y. Husseini, Yusuf Mallam, Hon. Danladi Audu, Man Usman Suleiman, Ademu Cashew, Alh. Ibrahim, Dauda Sule, Hon. Faruk Yahaya, Jibrin Omede, Cyril Alih, and Donjuma Elephant Mohammed.
While responding to questions from participants during the consultation, QS Aminu Abubakar Suleiman explained that the constitutional responsibilities of a Senator are primarily legislative functions, policy engagement, and lobbying for developmental projects that directly benefit the people.
He noted that beyond sponsoring bills and participating in lawmaking, effective representation requires strategic lobbying and engagement with federal institutions to attract infrastructure and social development projects to the constituency and region.
According to him, since the federal government already provides constituency development funds, his priority would be to ensure that such opportunities are properly utilized for impactful projects across Kogi East.
QS Suleiman further emphasized that electricity remains his major business and area of specialization both within and outside Nigeria. He therefore identified power development as one of his top priorities if elected into the Senate.
He explained that reliable electricity is the foundation for industrialization, SME growth, youth empowerment, employment generation, and sustainable economic development across communities.
According to him, “No community can experience meaningful industrial growth without stable electricity. Once power supply improves, businesses will grow, industries will emerge, and young people will have greater economic opportunities.”
He also highlighted education, healthcare, youth development, and support for small and medium enterprises as essential components of his broader human capital and development agenda for Kogi East.
Stakeholders at the meeting described the consultation as engaging, issue-based, and focused on practical solutions to the developmental challenges confronting the district.
