PROFILE OF THE PIONEER CHAIRMAN OF KOGI YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION


The Chairman of Kogi Youth Development Commission Lawal Ozomata James was born on 7 of July 1983 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Lawal Daniel from Obeiba/Ihima in Okehi local government area of Kogi State. He attended St. Peter’s Primary School Felele for his Primary Education from where he proceeded to Crowther Memorial College and Bishop Delisle College for his Secondary Education. After his secondary education, Mr. James proceeded to Kogi State Polytechnic, School of Preliminary Studies Osara for his A level (IJMB).

In 2002 he gained admission to Kogi State University (KSU) now Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) Where he obtained his B.SC Hons. in Public administration in 2007. A call to National Youth Service followed in 2008 (Edo State).

While in service, Lawal Ozomata James did a professional course in Management from the Nigerian institute of Management (chartered) and was inducted in 2009.

Lawal Ozomata James was appointed as the Corp Liasson officers (CLO) in Esan West Local Government zonal office of the NYSC.

In 2010, Lawal Ozomata James was employed by the Kogi State Government to teach under the defunct Science Technical and Technology Board (STTEB). During that period, he taught Government and Civic Education in Government Science Secondary School, Koton Karfe and Government Girl’s Secondary School, Sarkin Noma.

As one who have unparalleled love for academics, Lawal Ozomata James in 2014 enrolled for his Masters Degree at National Open University of Nigeria where he obtained his M. Sc in Public Administration. His career dream to teach in the tertiary institution came true in 2020 when he transfered his service to Kogi State Polytechnic as a lecturer, a position he held till his appointment as the Chairman Kogi Youth Development Commission.

Lawal Ozomata James is a devoted Christian and is married with two children.
