A former Governorship aspirant in the 2019 kogi state Governorship election on the platform of the rulling All Progressives Congress APC, Prince Mustafa Mona Audu has felicitated with Sen,(DR) George Akume, a two term Governor of Benue State on his appointment as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Prince Mona who described The appointment of the immediate past Minister of Special duties and Inter Governmental relations, Dr Akume as a reward for hardwork, said the appointment of the George Akume didn’t come as a Surprise to him, Considering the Contributions of the former Governor to the success of the rulling Party at the February 25,2023 Presidential election, adding that the former Governor’s track records of of Excellent performance, Capacity and Administrative acumen both as a bureaucrat and politician made him better suitable and qualified for the exalted Office.
He thanked the President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding the three time Senator Worthy for the job,noting that he was optimistic that, the former Governor of Benue State, would justify the confidence reposed in him, he described the appointment as a mark of recognition not only to the beneficiary but the entire Northe- central geopolitical zone.
Reacting to questions from Journalists on how his Late Father Prince Abubukar Audu would have felt if he were to be alive, Considering the fact that, the former Governor of Kogi state was one of the front line politicians from North-centra geopolitical zone, also one of the founding members of the rulling Party who was a Colleague and friend to Send.Dr George Akume, when both heldsway as Governor of Benue and Kogi state respectfully, he stressed that his late Father the first and second Executive Governor of Kogi state would have be the happiest person Over Sen.Dr Akume’s appointment, considering their intimacy and geopolitical zone of origin the North Central, where they both hails from.
Continuing, Prince Mustafa Mona maintained that his late Father’s dreams and aspirations for the political empowerment of the the People of North-centra zone is becoming a reality with the appointment of Dr Akume, pointing out that Prince Abubukar Audu of Blessed memory Committed alot of resources for the unity, political consciousness and empowerment of the people of the zone when he was alive,a struggle he continued until his demise.
The former Governorship aspirant disclosed this at a Reception/Dinner ceremony,held at the Congress Hall of the Transcop Hilton Hotel, Maitama Abuja, Saturday 17 June,2023 in honor of Sen. Dr Akume, on his appointment as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, by family members, friends and political associates, a ceremony that was attended by big wigs politicians and other prominent Nigerians particularly from the North Central geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
