PRAY FOR PEACE, PRAY FOR DEMOCRACY, PRAY FOR CHIEF MOMOH YUSUF OBARO
The Egbira Council of Women for Peace hereby calls on all sons and daughters of Ebiraland, both at home and in the diaspora, to unite in prayers for the success of Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro’s bid for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Ticket.
As stakeholders committed to peace, unity, and democratic development, we believe that the forthcoming senatorial election presents an opportunity to further strengthen democracy in Ebiraland and Kogi Central Senatorial District.
We strongly believe that a free, fair, and peaceful election can be achieved when all qualified and popular candidates are allowed to participate without intimidation, harassment, or undue interference. The emergence of Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro as the APC candidate alongside Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the PDP will provide voters with a genuine democratic choice and ensure healthy political competition between the two major political parties.
Such a contest will not only deepen democracy but will also reduce political tension, promote peaceful campaigns, and discourage violence before, during, and after the election. The people should be allowed to freely decide their preferred candidate through the ballot box.
We therefore urge political leaders, party members, traditional institutions, security agencies, youth groups, and community stakeholders to prioritize peace and the collective interest of Ebiraland above partisan considerations.
No political office is worth the loss of a single life or the destruction of property. Let us embrace tolerance, respect differing political opinions, and maintain the peace for which our land is known.
We call on all lovers of peace to join us in praying that Almighty God grants wisdom to our leaders, guides all political actors, and blesses Ebiraland with a peaceful, credible, and violence-free electoral process.
May peace reign in Ebiraland.
May democracy flourish.
May God’s will prevail.
