The Provost, Plateau state College of education, Gindiri ,Mr Emmanuel Jurte has applauded the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) for its impactful contribution to the development of tertiary education in the country.
Mr Emmanuel disclosed this to the The Nigerian Post newspaper correspondent in Abuja during the 10th anniversary celebration of tertiary education trust fund with the theme “Celebrating transformative intervention in our public tertiary institutions” held at the Congress hall Transcorp hotel,Abuja on the 16th of December, 2021.
The Provost noted that the state of the nation’s tertiary institutions would have been more devastating and worrisome if not for the timely establishment of TETFUND, adding that the agency has truly proven to be the bedrock of development of Nigeria’s tertiary institutions, be it universities, polythecnics and colleges of education.
Mr Emmanuel Jurte further stressed that considering what TETFUND has achieved in it’s ten years of existence, the celebration was worthwhile,and called on the federal government , the ministry of education and TETFUND to sustain the tempo.
He buttressed that beside providing infrastructure to the nation’s tertiary institutions, TETFUND has recorded giant stride in the enhancement of manpower development through research.
The provost said “As we speak, many of our lecturers in the various nation’s tertiary institutions have traveled abroad to visit other higher institutions for research, all these were being facilitated and sponsor by TETFUND”
He called on the federal government, particularly the honourable minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu to retain the executive secretary of TETFUND, Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro to enable him continue the good job he was doing.
