The man Pius Gbemisola Kolawole is another wonderful individual that I have found so much interesting in recent time due to my close working relationship with him.
A very young, dynamic, resourceful personality who the Almighty created as a gift not only to the people of Omi, Yagba West but entire Okun nation.
This piece is not intended to sing your praise unduly neither it is done in pretence but to tell the world a little about you.
Hon. Pius Kolawole, is an emerging leader of purpose, value and integrity. A very humble, amiable but frantic individuals, a man of deep conviction.
A non-bossy, but highly respected leader, who is progressively committed to the individual growth, personal development and socio improvement of people around him.
Chief Pius Kolawole is no doubt, a man of humble beginning, a man who does not take for granted the grace of God upon his life but has continue to praise and give all honour, adoration to the most High God.
By the special grace of God, Pius has occupied many leadership positions in life with much results to show. He was appointed by the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris as the Chairman, Caretaker Committee for Yagba West LGA (2006).
He was appointed as Special Adviser(Political) to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.(2016)
Pius resumed as elected Executive Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area in December 14, 2020.
It is interesting to note that of the above mentioned positions of responsibilities he has held, Pius has lived above board. He has been able to deliver appropriately to the admiration of all.
Though, not giving to noise making, he has displayed uncommon leadership prowess, passionately committed to service and responsibly responsive.
As a former caretaker Chairman, he left an indelible mark of performance, such that will be difficult to match.
As Executive Chairman, notwithstanding the myriads of challenges faced, he has continue daily to soar higher and higher.
He came with huge energy and vigour to the service of the good people of Yagba West, taking responsibility where needed and finding solution to problems.
Mindful of huge expectation of the citizens, he was apt, quick in responding promptly to emergencies, demonstrated courage and providing leadership in service delivery.
This is evident in the successful apprehension of all robbery suspects that have attacked Yagba West citizens in the last one year of his administration.
His efforts has also in no small way led to significant reduction in farmers – headers clashes in Yagba West.
It is also worth mentioning that due to his personal interactions, social networking, advocacy initiatives and other behavioural control mechanisms, socio vices, crime and criminalities has been brought to its lowest ebb.
As a philanthropist who believed that ‘health is wealth’ Pius organized an all Comprehensive free health and Medical outreach to cater for the health and medical needs of the less privileged residents of Yagba West. The medical outreach remained first of its kind to be organized in Yagba West.
Also in the year under review, Pius initiated ‘WIDOW SUPPORT PROJECT’ which is an initiative aimed at ameliorating the suffering of the poorest of the poor widows in Yagba West where foods items and other essential needs are doled out to widows on wards basis.
Under the leadership of Pius Kolawole as the Executive Chairman, Artisans, professionals, entrepreneurs, in Yagba West were all recognized, regarded as very important integral parts of Pius administration and were giving a sense of belonging as a departure from the past tradition.
Another significant achievement of Pius Kolawole as the Executive Chairman of Yagba West was the recognition and official registration of the Association of the ‘Peoples with Disabilities’ and their inclusiveness in decision making.
Pius Kolawole was also able to resolved some inter and intra communal disputes, foster unity among the people of Yagba West which defined Yagba West as the most peaceful Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Hon. Kolawole’s reign has brought peace and stability to Yagba West which attests to the popular saying that ‘When the righteous Rule, the people rejoice’. Yagba West people, old and young, male and female, Christians and Muslims are rejoicing and celebrating this young man – Pius Kolawole.
