The President, Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA), Alh. Sadiq Amodu Abubakar has lauded National Lawmakers, for passing the bill for an Act to establish the National Task Force on the Prohibition of Illegal Importation of Firearms, Light Weapons, Chemical Weapons and Pipeline Vandalism (NATFORCE) into Law.
The ICDA President in a statement made available to Journalists in and signed by its National Assistant on Public Affairs, Austin Akubo, noted that NATFORCE shall contribute meaningfully to curbing and mitigating the incidences of insecurity, and terrorism, arising from importation and proliferation of firearms and other Weapons into the country.
The ICDA Leader also noted that NATFORCE is capable of taking away the youths from the streets, as it is capable of generating thousands of employment for the teeming populace, thereby curbing the menace of social vices such as thuggery, violence in all ramifications, insurgency, militancy and terrorism.
In particular, the ICDA hails the wisdom of the leadership and membership of the National Assembly led by its Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, for patriotically passing the Bill into Law”
Describing The Director General of NATFORCE, Dr. Baba Mohammed, as “the Hero of our Generation” lauded him for his dogged determination to make NATFORCE, a reality in the quest to contribute meaningfully to the Security Architecture of Nigeria, towards making the Nation, a safe Haven for national and international economic investment, peace, unity and development.
The Senate yesterday, unanimously passed into Law, the Bill for an Act to establish the National Task Force on the Prohibition of Illegal Importation of Firearms, Light Weapons, Chemical Weapons and Pipeline Vandalism, into Law.
