By joshua PAAU MOURNS PASSAGE OF PROFESSOR KENNIE ENOJO, DIRECTOR, CENTRE FOR PRE-DEGREE AND DIPLOMA STUDIES
The Management of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has expressed profound sadness over the demise of Professor Kennie Enojo Enojo, a Professor of Political Economy and Director, Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies of the University.
He died in the early hours of today, Friday, 7th August, 2026, after a protracted illness.
Until his death, Prof. Enojo was an accomplished academic, administrator, researcher and intellectual who dedicated several years of service to the development of Prince Abubakar Audu University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prince Abubakar Audu University, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, described the passage of Professor Enojo as a painful and colossal loss to the University community.
Prof. Usman described the deceased as a distinguished scholar, committed administrator and dedicated university teacher whose contributions to the development of the University would remain indelible.
He noted that Prof. Enojo, fondly referred to as “The State,” dedicated his years of service to the University in pursuit of academic excellence, adding that his wealth of experience and contributions to various academic scholarship and administrative responsibilities would be greatly missed.
The Vice-Chancellor commiserated with the family of the deceased, the Department of Political Science, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies, as well as colleagues, students, friends, associates of Professor Enojo and University community.
Prof. Usman prayed God to grant the family and the entire University community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while praying for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
Professor Enojo joined the services of the University as a Graduate Assistant on 1st November, 2002 and rose steadily through the ranks until he was pronounced Professor by the Governing Council of the University on 1st October, 2023.
