Our Tertiary Institutions will run academic calendars unhindered, without strike – Gov. Yahaya Bello

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has assured that all the tertiary institutions in the State would continue to run there academic calendar unhindered and without strike action under his administration.

 

 

The Governor was amidst drumming, singing and dancing, today given a historic welcome into Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, with the Governor promising to make education in the State novel where students would graduate within record time when admitted.

Gov. Bello made the oromise while addressing students at the Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, shortly after he inspected several projects executed by the Institution under the TETFUND projects.

The Governor expressed satisfaction with all the projects executed in the Polytechnic, says the projects which can compete favourably with others in the country are a product of the administration’s efforts at patronizing Local contractors.

While he maintained that service to the people would not be sacrificed under his administration, paid glowing tributes to the local contractors who he said have made the state proud in the delivery of standard projects.

In his words, ” This is what the State is able to achieve using local contractors”, insisting that in Kogi, ” we lead while others follow”.

Gov. Bello urged the students to invite others from across the country to come and study in all the State tertiary institutions, assuring that the state has zero tolerance to strike actions under his administration.

The Governor commended the students for making the state institutions cult free, urged them to be law abiding, stay away from cultism, and ensure that they come out with flying colours.

Gov. Bello thanked the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo for the good work he is doing, described him as the man of the moment and for standing out tall amongst his equals.

Thenigerianpost reports that other projects inspected by the Governor today include GYB Model Science Secondary School, Felele and several completed and ongoing projects at the State Polytechnic.
