Our administration committed to promoting sports, says Governor Otu

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the promotion of sports as a potent channel to drive economic advancement and ensure youth engagement in the state.
Otu, popularly known as Sweet Prince and rated as one of the top performing governors in the country, made the statement at the weekend, after he kicked off the Governor Otu’s Golf and Business Tournament 2025 in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
A post on his Facebook page reads: “Today, I joined over 80 golfers from across 10 states for the Governor’s Golf and Business Tournament at the serene Calabar Golf Course, truly an exciting event.
“For me, this was a meeting point for sports, business, and tourism, showcasing our state’s growing reputation as a hub for recreation and investment.
“Our administration is committed to promoting sports as a viable driver of economic growth and youth engagement.
Golf, like many other sports, has the power to unite, inspire, and open doors of opportunity.
“Cross River is ready to welcome the world, not just for its beauty, but for the experiences and partnerships that make us a true tourist and investment destination.”
