Stop Blaming Tinubu, Hold Governors Accountable For Subsidy Funds – Sen. Karimi Tells Nigerians

…Rallies Kogi East For Tinubu, Says 2027 Is Payback Time For President’s Love For Zone
The Senator representing Kogi West, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, has disclosed that the current economic hardship facing Nigerians is not caused by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging Nigerians to beam their searchlight on the utilization of funds accruing to States following the removal of fuel subsidy.
Senator Karimi made the disclosure at the Dekina/Bassa Town Hall Meeting organized by the Win With Tinubu (WWT) Group, which he chairs under the Win With Tinubu Kashima Project.
According to him, with the quantum of resources now accruing to sub-national governments after the removal of fuel subsidy, if well utilized, Nigerians would have no reason to complain of hardship and poverty.
He noted that President Tinubu, as a financial expert, summoned rare courage to stop fuel subsidy which had become a drainpipe on the nation’s economy, adding that the removal of subsidy and harmonization of exchange rates, though initially biting, has liberated enormous resources for States and Local Governments, enabling them to pay salaries regularly and execute people-oriented projects.
“The time to stop blaming the Federal Government for what Mr. President has done is now. Follow the money going to your States. With what is going to the States today, if well utilized, Nigerians will not have reasons to complain,” Karimi declared.
The Senator disclosed that the National Assembly is working on a mechanism to follow the money to States in the country to ensure proper utilization of funds meant for the people.
In a massive show of love and solidarity, Senator Karimi charged the people of Kogi East to vote massively for the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027 as a reward for his unprecedented good deeds to the zone.
Describing Tinubu as a bold, visionary and resilient leader who has taken courageous decisions to rescue Nigeria from economic collapse, Karimi said, “President Tinubu is working hard to bring lasting solutions to the concerns of Nigerians. The suffering of today will birth a Nigeria of prosperity. Mr. President is looking forward to your support and has promised to do even more for Kogi East and Nigeria if re-elected.”
He listed numerous interventions of President Tinubu in favour of Kogi East, including key appointments and ongoing federal projects, noting that more is on the way. He praised the President’s push for Local Government autonomy as a masterstroke to ensure dividends of democracy reach the grassroots directly.
Senator Karimi, who reeled out his personal interventions in the zone, including bursary support for Kogi East students in 2024 and another N100 million in 2025, announced that he will also deliver bursary support in the name of President Tinubu in 2026. He also mentioned his continuous provision of palliatives to cushion the effects of reforms.
He said Kogi East, with the highest voting population in the state, cannot be taken for granted and urged an East-West partnership to deliver overwhelmingly for President Tinubu.
“Kogi APC is one united family. We must work in unison for the overwhelming victory of our President in 2027,” he declared.
The Town Hall witnessed a large turnout of party leaders, stakeholders, women and youths from across Kogi East.
Earlier in his remarks, the National Coordinator of WWT, Hon. Philip Sanni, described the Town Hall as an avenue to feel the pulse of the people, stressing that Kogi East occupies a vital place in the administration of President Tinubu.
On his part, retired AIG Abutu Yaro described the Tinubu administration as one that has positively impacted Kogi East and declared that 2027 is payback time.
Similarly, Kashim Akor called for aggressive grassroots mobilization, noting that massive support will encourage the President to do more, while Akpa Omale, representative of the Senator representing Kogi East, lauded President Tinubu for his love for the zone.
The Media Strategist of WWT, Comrade Musa Bakare, and the Deputy Director, Media and Strategic Communications, Atokolo Onalo, took turns to highlight the landmark achievements of President Tinubu, thanking the people for their massive turnout which, according to them, is a clear indication that Kogi East will vote massively for the APC and President Tinubu.
The meeting ended on a high note with a resounding resolution by the people of Dekina/Bassa to stand with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to ensure his resounding victory in 2027, while appreciating Sen. Karimi for his continuous support for Kogi East.
