The chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Julius Agbonze has debunked the purported adoption of one Mr. Billy Osawaru as the party’s candidate for Orhionmwon/Uhunmode Federal Constituency noting that there was no adoption of any aspirant.
In a public disclaimer of the adoption, Comrade Agbonze said, “I Comrade Agbonze Julius , the chairman All Progressives Congress, Orhionmwon LGA chapter want to inform the general public that there was no adoption of any aspirant in my Local Government Area and that all aspirants are going to the field for proper primary which will be conducted by the party”.
Some leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo led by the incumbent member representating Orhionmwon/Uhunmode Federal Constituency, Hon. Patrick Aisowierien adopted Mr. Billy Osawaru as the party’s candidate for the Orhionmwon/ Uhunmode Federal Constituency ahead the 2023 general elections.
Speaking at a meeting of some Orhionmwon APC leaders, Hon. Patrick Aisowierien who spoke on behalf of the leaders said all leaders in the local government area, including the leader of the APC in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu were consulted before the adoption of Billy Osawaru as the candidate.
But some party leaders in Orhionmwon have disassociate themselves from the purported adoption which they said is against the true spirit of democracy, according to them since there are more than one aspirants if consensus do not work, all the aspirants will go for a genuine and transparent primaries to be organised by the APC National.
All attempt to reach Ize Iyamu proved abortive, as calls and text messages put to his phone remain un answered.
