It is imperative I write you this letter, hoping it gets to you in good faith.
The state of Ganaja road the past two years or more is not only worrisome but speaks ill of the term “governance”.
On many occasions one has argued about category the road belong. Is it a trunk A – Federal road, trunk B – State road or trunk – C the local Government road?
No doubt, historical track on that road has it that Government of Kogi State constructed the route and handed it over to the Federal Government to connect several other States of the Federation.
That argument, no doubt has been laid to rest upon seeing the award of contract for the reconstruction of the road by the Federal Ministry for Works and Housing attached in this piece.
Sir, State of the road is now terribly unbearable than former state before the said contract was awarded. One would only imagine that with Kogi as a State connected to the Federal system by Party affiliation, roads like this should have long been done and forgotten.
To state it categorically, this seems to be the only road awarded by the Federal Government, shamefully it’s been left in terrible and abysmal state.
I want to use this medium to appeal to you to use your good office to either call on the Federal Ministry for Works through the Honourable Minister Babatunde Fashola to without any waste of time call back the contractors to site to complete the road from the Gadumo axis to Ganaja village or send KOGROMA to offer palliative measure on that route to make life easier for commuters.
Businesses around that axis is suffering low patronage, commuters spend so much time due to gridlock and vehicles always get broken down at that spot.
