ONOGIE AFEMAI LOKOJA URGES PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS

The Onogie of Afemai in Lokoja, Alhaji Zakari Dangana, has called on members of the Afemai community and residents of Lokoja to remain committed to peaceful coexistence as the 2027 general elections approach.
The traditional ruler made the call during his monthly meeting with palace chiefs at his palace in Lokoja. He commended the administration of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for prioritizing the welfare of citizens across Kogi State.
Alhaji Zakari Dangana praised the existing cordial relationship between the Afemai people and the state government, and urged the people to sustain their peaceful disposition before, during, and after the 2027 elections.
The Onogie affirmed that the Afemai community will continue to support the Ododo administration. He also congratulated the Maigari of Lokoja on the successful celebration of Eid el-Kabir and the hosting of this year’s durbar festival.
On security, the traditional ruler called on security agencies to sustain efforts that allow residents of Lokoja to live without fear. He commended the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comr. Abdullahi Adamu, for aligning with Governor Ododo’s vision of providing security to the people.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Afemai Progressive Union, Abu Michael, described the meeting with the Onogie as timely. He said the call for Afemai indigenes to remain peaceful and law abiding would be adhered to by members of the community in the state.
