Member, Representing Omala State Constituency, in the
Kogi State House of Assembly, has emerged “Outstanding State Legislator of The Year”, in Nigeria.
Hon. Umar was conferred with the award at the well attended 4th Nigeria Service Awards, 2024, held at Merit House, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja.
The theme of the 4th Nigeria Service Awards, 2024, “Leveraging Diversity for National Growth”
saw the Kogi State Lawmaker receiving the highest Legislative honours for service in the nation building.
Hon. Umar according to Amb. Akhimien Cletus, Principal Coordinating Executive, Nigeria Service Awards,
ranked number one according to nomination and votes by members of the General Public.
The award for Hon. Umar is in recognition of his significant contributions to legislative processes, community
development, advocacy for policies that have promoted the welfare of his constituents.
According to the organizers of the award, while
demonstrating exceptional ability to bridge the gaps, Hon. Umar”s focused on grassroots development, with
initiatives that have brought tangible developments to his constituents came to the fore.
He was commended for driving policies that have enhanced
education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment characterized by a deep sense of responsibility.
Similarly, Hon. Umar’s sterling record of consistent community engagement, tangible Constituency projects, sponsorship of numerous
bills, Empowerment programmes, far-reaching contributions to fostering progress in the affairs of critical significance concerning his Constituency and Nigeria at large led to his being conferred with the “Outstanding State Legislator of The Year”, award Nigeria.
The Nigeria Service Awards was initiated to honour and recognize remarkable individuals,
groups and institutions whose actions have greatly impacted the State positively and helped in shaping
their immediate society and continues to inspire Nationally in the year under review.
In a remarks on the award, the Lawmaker said he is overwhelmed by the award, pointing out that he never knew that his modest contribution was been monitored, promised to sustain his service to humanity.
A major highlights of the Award Ceremony was the unveiling/launching of the
prestigious EMINENCE MAGAZINE that reflected the landmark achievements of Awardee.
