Okene LG Chairman Presents 2023 Budget Estimates To The Legislative Council


 

As part of his statutory responsibility, the Chairman of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad on Tuesday presented Three Billion, Six Hundred and Ninety Three Million, Two Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred and Ninety Naira (N3,693,237,790) only as 2023 budget estimate to the local government legislative council for consideration and passage.

The proposed estimates tagged Budget of “Peace Transformation” is tailored towards five thematic developmental goals of job creation, Healthcare, Education, Agriculture and youth empowerment.

The council chairman maintained that, the budget was carefully put together in line with present economic challenges and the new direction agenda of the state government.

Analyzing the budget figures, recurrent expenditure takes N1,864,104.07 while capital expenditure guff N1,829,133.720.

In an emotional speech, the chairman thanked the legislative council for their cooperation noting that, this might be his last legislative function vis-a-vis budget presentation as tenure of elected council officials ends this year.
