The Chairman of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Prof. Salawu Sadiku. The Chairman was accompanied on the visit by his cabinet members.
Hon. Abdulrazaq on behalf of the people of Okene Local Government congratulate the Vice-Chancellor on his well deserved appointment. He said, as an indigene of Okene local government who has acquired so much academic knowledge and administrative experience over the years will no doubt deploy same to develop the institution to an enviable height in no distance time. He prayed for more wisdom, guidance and the needed strength to pilot the affairs of the new institution.
In his response, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sadiku describe the visit as a moral booster. He thanked the council chairmen for their support and encouragement so far. He acknowledged the contributions of the local governments and reiterate the efforts of the university to reciprocate the gesture in employment opportunities and other statutory benefits.
The Vice-Chancellor maintained that in less than a year of accreditation of the institution, the school was able to gather students to commence academic activities. He said, the school was established to bridge the gap in science and technology and of course compliment the effort of Kogi State University, Anyigba to provide qualitative education for the people of Kogi state.
