“WE ARE TAKING THE CONVERSATION TO THE GRASSROOTS” — WoPU COMMISSIONS POWERFUL PODCAST STUDIO

WoPU declares Podcast Studio as strategic platform for grassroots mobilisation, policy education, and aggressive promotion of Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of 2027
In a bold move aimed at reshaping national discourse and strengthening the bond between government and the Nigerian masses, the *Working People United (WoPU)* on Tuesday, 20th October, 2026, officially commissioned its state-of-the-art *Working People United Podcast Studio* at the WoPU Secretariat.
The commissioning ceremony, which attracted distinguished guests, comrades, leaders of organised labour, representatives of trade associations, professionals and members of the press, was described as more than just the unveiling of microphones and recording facilities.
Addressing guests at the event, the National Coordinator-General of Working People United, Comrade Prince Akporeha Williams Enredonana, said the studio is the opening of a platform for ideas and a deliberate step towards strengthening the relationship between government and the people.
“Today is more than the commissioning of a podcast studio. It is the opening of a platform for ideas, the beginning of a new chapter in public engagement and a deliberate step towards strengthening the relationship between government and the people,” he declared.
A PLATFORM FOR TRUTH, NOT MISINFORMATION
Comrade Enredonana lamented that Nigeria is in an era where misinformation spreads faster than truth and public opinion is shaped daily, stressing that organisations that care about workers must take responsibility for providing credible information.
He said WoPU understands that a nation cannot make progress when its working people are disconnected from conversations surrounding public policies, governance and national development.
According to him, the Podcast Studio was not established merely to produce content or add another voice to the crowded media space, but to create a platform where national issues can be discussed honestly, intelligently and constructively; where ordinary Nigerians’ concerns can find expression; and where government policies can be examined, explained and communicated.
“Through this platform, we intend to engage policymakers, government officials, labour leaders, unionists, political actors, professionals, entrepreneurs, civil society representatives and ordinary working Nigerians. We will discuss governance, public policies, workers’ welfare, industrial relations, minimum wage implementation, job creation, economic reforms, taxation, education, healthcare, social protection and the many challenges confronting Nigerian working people,” he said.
TO SELL TINUBU’S RENEWED HOPE AGENDA TO THE GRASSROOTS
In a major political declaration, the WoPU Coordinator-General reaffirmed the group’s total commitment to the *Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR*, and announced that the platform will be a key instrument to campaign for Tinubu’s re-election alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027.
“Working People United believes in and is highly committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and we are committed to supporting his re-election alongside the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, in 2027,” he announced.
He stressed that the national conversation should not be driven by misinformation, political hostility or deliberate distortion of public policies, but by facts, evidence and honest assessment.
“This is where the Working People Podcast will play a significant role. We intend to use this platform to explain the rationale behind the administration’s policies, discuss the progress being made, examine the challenges that remain and communicate the opportunities these policies create for working Nigerians.”
Comrade Enredonana said political support is strongest when built on understanding and conviction, not just slogans and rallies. He said WoPU will take the conversation to the grassroots, using accessible communication to reach working people in all communities across the 36 states, the FCT, the 774 Local Government Areas and among Nigerians in the diaspora.
CALL FOR PARTNERSHIP
The labour leader called on government officials, labour leaders, political stakeholders, development experts and the media to partner with WoPU in the mission.
He charged members of Working People United that the initiative places additional responsibility on them to learn, communicate effectively and ensure the studio becomes a productive instrument for public enlightenment and national development.
“Today, we are commissioning more than equipment. We are commissioning an idea. We are commissioning a commitment to public conversation. We are commissioning a platform for workers’ voices, policy education and political engagement. And above all, we are commissioning another instrument through which Working People United will contribute to the national conversation and mobilise support for the continued leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
He prayed that the studio will become a place where ideas are tested, public policies are better understood and the aspirations of working Nigerians are given deserved attention, while strengthening commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The ceremony was well attended by dignitaries and other prominent personalities, including:
1. Hon. Odiakpo Obire
2. Mr. Oluwafisayo Ishola
