Oke-Offin, Kabba Bunu LGA – February 6, 2025

The people of Oke-Offin in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area have been assured of more development interventions from the Kogi State government. This assurance was given today by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo during the commissioning of a block of classrooms and a motorized borehole in the community.

Representing the governor at the event, the State Security Adviser, Retired Commander Jerry Omodara, expressed satisfaction with the completion of the projects. He noted that before now, Oke-Offin’s secondary school lacked government presence. He reassured the community that this administration would continue to deliver developmental projects that would improve their quality of life.

Commander Omodara further emphasized the strong bond between the community and the Ododo-led government, reaffirming that Oke-Offin remains committed to supporting the administration and would reciprocate the government’s goodwill when the time comes.

The General Manager of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KSCSDA), Chief Momoh Dauda, lauded the commitment of the people and the financial support provided by Governor Ododo, which ensured the timely completion of the projects. He stated that the commissioning of these projects was part of activities marking the governor’s one-year anniversary in office. He reiterated the agency’s dedication to serving as a key instrument in delivering infrastructure to remote and underserved communities across the state.

In his remarks, the President of the Oke-Offin Development Association, Chief Olorunsuwa Elijah Ola, described the projects as significant milestones in the community’s quest for better living conditions and an improved learning environment. He expressed deep gratitude to both the agency and the Kogi State government, pledging that the community would safeguard and maintain the facilities for long-term sustainability.

The Chairman of Kabba Bunu LGA, represented by Mrs. Ifedunmi Olumeyan, commended Governor Ododo and KSCSDA for remembering the Oke-Offin community. She acknowledged that the newly commissioned projects would make a lasting impact on education and access to clean water in the area.

His Royal Highness, the Paramount Chief of Oke-Offin, Oba James Oyimode, also voiced his appreciation, stating that the projects were a welcome development for the community. He offered prayers for the continued success of Governor Ododo’s administration and urged the government to keep extending its developmental initiatives to more rural areas.

The projects were executed under the Basic Services Infrastructure component of the Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus Programme (NG-CARES), a government-backed initiative aimed at improving rural infrastructure and boosting community resilience.

With this latest intervention, the people of Oke-Offin can now look forward to more government support in education, water supply, and other key sectors, ensuring sustainable growth and development in the area.
