OFANTE COMMUNITY ELECTS LEADERS

 


Ofante community Self~Help Association (OCSHA) the headquarters of unyi~Ogugu district of Olamaboro LGA Kogi state has elected leaders to pioneer the affairs of the community for the next three years.The election was conducted peacefully under the chairmanship of Engnr. Nathaniel Negedu Agada as electorial officer.
The newly elected national leaders are :
1. Dr. Eleojo James Amodu ~ president.
2. Mrs. Joy Akubo~ Vice president.
3. Mr Philip Ohiemi Ejima` ~secretary General
4.Hon. Samuel Akpakwu ~ P.R.O.
5. Pastor Emmanuel Idenyi ~Treasurer.
6. Mr Ademu Benson Okoina ~Financial secretary.
7. Comrade Simon Agada ~Director of socials.
8. Mr Paul Omale ~Auditor.
9. Mr Shehu Ejeh Negedu (mc shenaco) ~ provost marshal.
10. Barr.Tina Tims Ejiga ~ Legal Adviser.
The officials were sworn in by a legal luminary Elder/Barr. Ejiga Enemona Paul. Barr Ejiga charged them to be loyal, honest and committed to the duties of their offices. He urged them to be developmentally conscious as the name of the association implies and having in mind to work according to the tenets of the constitution.
In his acceptance speech, the President Dr Eleojo James Amodu stated inter alia that ‘” I shall focus on the development of our community with appropriate policy, scale and industrial measure in partnership with all stake holders as engine room of growth. I therefore passionately appeal to us sons and daughters of Ofante to come together so that Ofante can witness momentum through our collective efforts as community builders”.
He appealed to the Kogi state government to construct the 21 kilometers road ranging from Ogugu through many communities encompassing Emonoja , odogomu, Ejule, Okpoga, Alafor Ofante center, Ofikpechu, Ogane, Okai, Emodu, Unyi~Ogugu communities.He stretched that Ofante indigenes have been doing their best by way of individual and collective intervention thereby making the road at least passable. The road if tarred, will open up many feeder roads and thereby making it easy for farmers to transport their farm products to towns and cities to boost the economy of Ogugu land , Olamaboro local government, and Kogi state at large.
