Ododo’s Aide Urges Kogi APC to Strengthen Youth Leadership Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Youth and Students Matters, Amb. Oladele Niyi, has urged the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kogi State to empower youth leaders across the state if the party hopes to secure a decisive win in the 2027 general elections.
Niyi made the call on Monday during a goodwill message at a roundtable session with the APC State Youth Leader, zonal youth leaders, and the 21 LGA youth leaders in Lokoja.
He said the strength of the party lay in the hands of its youth, stressing that the APC could not operate or win elections without their active support and mobilization at the zonal, local government, and ward levels.
“The era of using youth leaders with nothing to show for it should be stopped,” he said. “Youth leaders must be secured and adequately equipped to enable them deliver for the party.”
Niyi called for the provision of mobility for all youth leaders across the state to enhance their capacity to rally young people for the APC. He also advocated for adequate remuneration for Zonal Youth leaders and asked that Council chairmen be directed provide utility vehicles for LGA youth leaders.
He emphasized that whether through direct primaries or consensus, youth leaders had a critical role to play in ensuring victory for all APC candidates, including President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ododo.
“The youths are the strength and pillars of the party. If we want to win overwhelmingly, we must invest in those driving the grassroots mobilization,” he added.
