NYSC deploys 1,900 prospective corps members to Kwara


 

The management of the National Youth Service Corps scheme said it has deployed a total of 1,900 prospective Corps members to Kwara Sate to participate in the Batch ‘C’, Stream ll orientation course which is set to kick off nationwide on Wednesday 24th November and end on 14th December, 2021.
In a statement issued in Ilorin, Kwara State, participants of the 21-day exercise are expected to start trooping to their respective camps immediately, in order to meet up with the deadline date set for registration.
The statement further stated that the prospective Corps members have been advised to print their Call-up letters online and proceed to their various camps.
The Kwara State NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Francisca Olaleye expressed the readiness of the NYSC management to run yet another hitch free orientation exercise in the state.
According to her, all the collaborating agencies have been adequately mobilised for the exercise and they have assured NYSC of their continuous support.
In her words, “the Army is always ready for us, with their personnel, the Police will be with us, as usual, to secure the camp and its environment, both the State ministry of health and NCDC are ready for us. It’s a national programme and just as we have been doing together in the time past, we are ready to synergies with these critical stakeholders to achieve, yet another successful orientation exercise.”
The statement further urged the general public, especially, the good people of Kwara state, to accord the prospective Corps members warm reception as they will be arriving the state for the exercise.
All the major car parks in the state and their commuters have been sensitised in readiness to host the newly deployed Corps members.
According to the timetable released by the NYSC management, the registration exercise of the Prospective Corps members commences on Wednesday 24th and closes officially on Saturday, 27th November, 2021. The Swearing in ceremony, which is meant to be low-key, shall takes place on Tuesday 30th November 2021.
The NYSC State Coordinator further informed the public that the Stare orientation camp, at Yikpata, in Edu Local Government Area, has been put in good shape in order to provide minimum comfort for the participants. She said the camp has been fumigated to prevent wild insects during the exercise.
She further assured that, there will be full compliance with the COVID-19 protocols during the orientation exercise. The statement stressed that the officials of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, (NCDC) will be on ground at the camp, to screen all the participants, the camp officials and everyone that will be visiting the camp, for COVID-19.
The management of NYSC wishes all the prospective Corps members journey mercy, as they travel to their respective camps and strictly warned them to avoid night travels.
