NMA eulogizes Minister of State for Health, seeks for quick reopening of FMC , Lokoja!


 

 

Kogi State chapter of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has commended the Minister of State for Health, Senator Olorunnibe Mamora for his visit to Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja on Tuesday, 17th November, 2020 to resolve the impasse that led to the continued closure of the hospital.

In a statement signed by the State Chairman and Secretary of NMA, Dr Oyiguh Omakoji and Dr Famotele Tolorunju respectively, and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Wednesday, the Association said it will not rest on its oars until the health facilitiy of the Federal Government, Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja is reopened to the members of the public.

By his visit to the hospital, the Kogi NMA said the Association was pleased to note that the honourable Minister of Health has taken the needed step to bridge the gap towards easing out the deadlock that shut the services of the hospital five months ago.

The Association hinted further that, “We are pleased to note that during the visit, the honourable minister saw the eagerness of the members of staff of the hospital to be directed by the Minister to resume work immediately”.

With the euphoria of the Minister’s visit raising hope of panacea, the NMA noted that the Association is looking forward for his directive to reopen the hospital in few days time to the best interest of Nigerians.

“We, therefore are looking forward to another directive from the honourable minister to reopen the hospital in few days time in the interest of Nigerians in the State in dire need of healthcare serviceswithin the hospital, who are eagerly awaiting the response from your office”, the statement stressed.
