NIPR Calls on PR Practitioners to Formalize Membership or Face Penalties
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has reminded public relations practitioners in Nigeria that formal membership of the Institute is statutory, not optional.
According to the NIPR Act, any individual practicing public relations without membership commits an offence, punishable by fines, imprisonment, or both.
The NIPR, established in 1963 and granted Chartered status in 1990, is the legally recognized regulator of Public Relations practice in Nigeria. Corporate bodies and responsible officers are also liable for breaches.
Practitioners in media relations, corporate communications, public affairs, and related fields are urged to formalize their membership to avoid penalties. Interested individuals can register via (link unavailable).
