NYCN PRESIDENT BABANGIDA THANKS ODODO, GOVERNORS, MINISTERS, NCDC BOSS FOR MAKING NATIONAL YOUTH SUMMIT ON RENEWED HOPE A RESOUNDING SUCCESS
The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Comr. Babangida Onimisi Isah, has expressed profound gratitude to distinguished leaders who graced and supported the Nigeria Youth Summit on Renewed Hope Agenda held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, describing their presence as the force that made the historic gathering eventful, impactful and unforgettable.
In an appreciation message issued in Abuja, Comr. Babangida said the Summit, with the theme, “Nigerian Youth and Renewed Hope Agenda Dialogue: Assessing Impact, Unlocking Opportunities,” which culminated in the formal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027, would not have achieved its record success without the moral, financial and institutional support of leaders who believe in the Nigerian youth.
He specially thanked the Chief Host of the Summit and Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his exceptional leadership, hospitality and youth-friendly disposition. Governor Ododo, he said, did not only host the Summit, he owned it, mobilised for it, and promised to personally lead the Nigerian youths to present the Endorsement Resolution to Mr. President, a gesture that demonstrated rare commitment to youth inclusion and detribalized leadership.
Comr. Babangida also expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Biodun Oyebanji, the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Hon. Monday Okpebholo, the Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, and the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, for standing with the Nigerian youth and lending the weight of their offices to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He further thanked the Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Hon. Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele, for his fatherly guidance and steadfast support to the Council, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Hon. Nyesom Wike, for his massive support and encouragement to the youth constituency, and the Honourable Minister for Steel Development, Prince Abubakar Shaibu Audu, for his commitment to youth empowerment through industrialisation and job creation.
Special appreciation was also extended to the Executive Director, North Central Development Commission, Hajiya Atikat Aliyu Janah Mamman (Princess), for her outstanding support and belief in the vision of the Summit.
Comr. Babangida noted that the presence of the governors, ministers and the NCDC Executive Director sent a powerful message that the Nigerian youth are not alone, that government at all levels is listening, and that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not a slogan but a living programme touching lives through NELFUND which has reached over 400,000 students, the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, the revamped Nigeria Youth Investment Fund, and the Renewed Hope Employment and Skills Acquisition initiatives.
“On behalf of the National Executive Council, the 36 State Chapters, the FCT, and over 100 million Nigerian youths, I say a big thank you. You gave us your time, your resources, your presence and your encouragement. You made the Summit a national conversation. History will remember your support,” Babangida said.
He pledged that NYCN will remain a non-partisan, solution-driven and patriotic youth body, committed to mobilising Nigerian youths for national unity, peace, productivity and the continuity of the Renewed Hope Agenda in 2027.
