The ancient town of Oshogbo stood still as the Ataoja of Osogbo land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, Larooye II, on Saturday, installed Engr. Olorunfemi Edward Olatunji as the Chief Bobakeye of Osogboland, described him as a man who stands out and tall amongst his equals in the quest for unity and true friendship.
Oba Jimoh Olanipekun gave the charge while speaking at the installation ceremony of the newly installed Bobakeye of Osogbo, land, Engr. Olorunfemi Edward Olatunji, described him as a man well known for his philanthropic gestures, a seasoned business man, described him as politician per excellence.
The gathering at the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo land was that of who is who as the convergence of the peoples opinion described the man who stole the show, Engr. Olorunfemi Edward Olatunji as a worthy ambassador of Yagba Land and a man should be watched out for in the emancipation of the people.
Oba Olanipekun recounted several good instances of Engineer Olorunfemi Olatunji’s gesture in touching lives positively, said his good works speaks volumes reason why he is being recognized and saddled with a greater role by the people of Osogboland.
He said the new Bobakeye has over the years taken financial care of men and women who are vulnerable and less privileged, called on other Nigerians to emulate his selfless sacrifices to humanity in Supporting Educational pursuit of many indigents as well as in providing gainful employment to terming unemployed.
“As God would have it, Chiefs of Ataoja-In-Council harmoniously agreed over the choice of Engr. Olorunfemi Edward Olatunji, as they all formed a pleasing and consistent opinion which has led to bringing this event into actualization. This act of giving back to the society speaks of divine love and mercy in Engineer Olufemi’s favour that every good works and name will always fish out a Man.
“Much have been heard and heard about persons here. But Engr. Olorunfemi Edward Olatunji stands out and tall. I pray God to continue to be with you, prosper you and your family. May you not recount this time and event as a bad thing to happen to you,” the Ataoja said.
In his remarks, the newly installed Bobakeye of Osogbo land, Engr. Olorunfemi Edward Olatunji appreciated His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, Larooye II, Council of Oba and the entire people of Osogbo land for finding him worthy of the title.
He described the new traditional title as a clarion call to do more in service for humanity, adding that it’s an unnecessary amnesia to forget about one’s beginning reasons why giving back to the society remains for him a priority.
He assured that he will redouble his efforts in building Bridges of friendship, called on Nigerians to always strive towards the unity of the country, irrespective of where they live and People they come across.
Engineer Olatunji thereafter thanked friends, family, associates and business partners from overseas, Kogi, Abuja, Lagos and other states who find time in their different schedules to make it to the event.
He also prayed that they all will find joy in their own lives as he wished them a blissful journeys to their respective destinations.
The installation event was witnessed by the Political class, captains of industries, high chiefs of Osogbo, such as chiefs ajagunna, Iyalode and her entourage; Otun Iyalode, Séríkí Iyalode, Eketa Iyalode, Otun Iyalode, Ekerin Iyalode, Iyaloja of Osogbo and her entourage; Èkejì Iyaloja and Eketa Iyaloja, Otun Balogun who represented Chief Balogun and Osi Balogun.
Kogi State with particular reference to Yagba Land was literally moved to Oshogbo as it was a gathering of Political bigwigs, irrespective of Political affiliation, tribes nor religion.
