Nigeria Remains Underdeveloped Because Of Flawed leadership’—— Uhomoibhi

A Former Nigeria’s Permanent Secretary to the United Nations, Ambassador Martin Uhomoibhi on Wednesday said that Nigeria remains underdeveloped because of flawed leadership.

Uhomoibhi disclosed this to newsmen in Benin City when he declared his intention to contest the Edo 2024 governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat.

He said the leadership deficit in the country has lead to myriads of problems affecting the economy , government and well-being of Nigerians.

Uhomoibhi added that Nigeria though blessed abundantly interms of human and material has not fared well as Africa’s giant.

The ambassador said the lamentations by Edo people for the development of Edo state prompted him to join in the governorship race to change the narratives.

“We have a flawed leadership selection process that ensures we do not put our best forward.

“The country is blessed abundantly interms of human and material resources. What we have not had is good leadership.That is where I come in.

“I will foster co-operation at all levels of government to create a vibrant and sustainable Edo state.

“I will ensure the provision of a qualitative and competent public service that will work for all Edo people. ” he said.

The career diplomat, who hails from Ewatto in Esan South-East Local Government Council of the state said he has the character intergrity and global network of connections to make a difference in the Edo State narrative.
