Newly Appointed Hon. Olayinka Hits Ground Running, Meets Yoruba Community, Zariagi Stakeholders

The newly appointed Local Government Special Adviser (LSA) to the Kogi State Governor, Hon. Olayinka Moses Adewuyi, has commenced strategic grassroots consultations to foster unity and consolidate political support in Adavi Local Government Area.

Barely days after assuming office, Hon. Olayinka convened two high-powered strategic meetings in Zariagi, bringing together traditional rulers, community leaders, and critical stakeholders to chart a course for inclusive governance and inter-communal harmony. At the core of both consultations were glowing tributes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unrelenting drive under the Renewed Hope Agenda, and to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, whom stakeholders hailed as the “People’s Governor” and “Chief Servant” for his unprecedented inclusive governance and developmental strides across the state.

The LSA’s first port of call was the palace of the Oba Yoruba Community in Zariagi on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The strategic engagement drew heavyweights from the community, led by His Royal Highness, Oba David Femi Ayoko, the Oba Yoruba Community Zariagi. Also in attendance were the immediate past Community Chairman of Zariagi, Mallam Jubril Adavize; the Balogun Yoruba Community, Chief Omowaye; the Grand Patron of the Zariagi Yoruba Community, Senior Apostle Akande; alongside other esteemed palace chiefs.

Addressing the gathering, discussions centered heavily on civic responsibility. Hon. Olayinka sensitized the community on the imperative of getting their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) ready ahead of upcoming elections, while rallying massive support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Building on the momentum of his royal consultation, Hon. Adewuyi held an expansive town hall meeting on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Zariagi Community Hall, Adavi LGA. The meeting served as a melting pot for leadership, uniting the central community executives and the Yoruba community in a rare display of solidarity.

Prominent figures present at the town hall included the Zariagi Community Chairman, Mr. Salihu Abdumalik; Chief M.J. Salawu (The Onoba); Chief Boss (The Onoba); and the Oba Yoruba Community, Oba David Femi Ayoko, alongside other executive members from both communities.

The hallmark of the town hall meeting was the deliberate conversation around building a formidable synergy between the Ebira and Yoruba populations in Zariagi. Stakeholders agreed that fostering a stronger inter-ethnic alliance is non-negotiable for future electoral victories at both the state and federal levels.

As the political landscape in Kogi State shifts gears toward future electoral cycles, the early grassroot reconciliation and mobilization spearheaded by Hon. Olayinka are widely seen as a masterstroke designed to solidify the APC’s grip on Adavi LGA through unity, peace, and mutual respect.
