The new Passport Control Officer, for Kogi State Command, Nigeria Immigration Service, I.B. Babatunde has promised to make passport issuance to confirmed Nigerians easier once they meet with the documentation, screening and protocols.

The new PCO made the disclosure while fielding questions as part of activities to mark the celebration of the 60 years anniversary of Nigeria Immigration Service.

Recalled that the service held a road walk and other activities to mark the celebration, promised a lot of changes that would make the issuance of passport collection easier for Nigerians.

She promised that the office is open for Nigerians to visit for the issuance of passport, warned against patronizing touts for passport procurement.

The PCO said the immigration service is committed to manning the boarders and the nation’s airport to ensure seamless migration.

She added that the issuance of passport would be for only Nigerians and for people who have purposes to travel out of the country for genuine reasons.

The PCO said the immigration service is committed to tackle headlong the issues of child trafficking in the State, said the command would not tolerate maltreatment of house helps and trafficking of persons.

While stressing the need for discipline amongst personnel of the command, she urged them to be timely, united and show respect for rank.

The PCO expressed happiness with where the immigration service is at 60, said so much of changes has taken place in the service, with the introduction of technology.
