NEMA IN COLLABORATION WITH KOSEMA DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS TO FIRE DISASTER VICTIMS IN THREE LGAs OF KOGI STATE

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with Kogi State Government through Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA), distributed food materials to victims of a recent fire disaster gutted cantonment in Lokoja LGA, Eni okibo in Ogori /Magongo LGA and Itobe in Ofu LGA, Kogi State. The intervention, approved by Federal and State Government included essential food items such as rice, garri, vegetable oil, tomato paste, maggi and salt.

The distribution, conducted under the supervision of the Executive Secretary KOSEMA, Alh Mouktar Atimah and NEMA’s Representative team, aimed to support affected victims. Furthermore, the KOSEMA Bosss stated that the distribution symbolized the commitment of the two sister Agencies in ensuring effective disaster management. .

Atimah further stressed that the distribution portrayed government’s commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Kogi State as the gesture provided the much-needed succour. He appreciated the Federal Government and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for their support, including logistical assistance that aided hitch-free distribution of the food items to the affected victims.

“Grateful beneficiaries acknowledged, and lauded the intervention, commended the government for its swift and prompt response in providing food items that would greatly ease the crisis of fire disaster’s impact.
