NDDC Board : Comrade Mulade Toluwa Commends President Buhari


———-urges members to serve the people, not militants

The President of Riverine Peace Initiative in Niger Delta, Comrade Mulade Toluwa has called on those who believe that People who should Mann the affairs of NDDC should come from Niger Delta to have a rethink.

Comrade Mulade stressed that what people should be concerned about is competence to carryout the objective of the commission effectively and not tie the appointment to ethnic background.

Comrade Mulade disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to Newsmen in Benin City,Edo State.

He said, Niger Deltans who have occupied the NDDC position before now do not even listen to the plights of the people and had always locked their doors against the people.

Stating that, “the Northern and middle belt appointees like the former Minister of state,Niger Delta affairs, Sam Ode during GoodLuck Jonathan administration was more accessible than the Niger Delta appointees due to his open door policy.”

He however commended President Muhamadu Buhari for the appointment and stressed that these set of appointed members of the commission should try as much as possible to resume work.

He therefore called on the newly appointed NDDC board members and charge them to carry the ordinary people from the area along with their activities and shun the habit of focusing only on Millitants alone.

According to him,” the purpose of NDDC commission is to cushion the impact of oil deploration in the area and ensure that the welfare of grassroots people are taken into consideration.”

He further add, that the newly appointed members should endeavour to listen to the complains of the Niger Deltans and ensure necessary actions.

In a similar development, Comrade Mulade called on all Candidates contesting for various positions to abide to the agreement of the Peace Accord led by Gen.Abubaka Abudusalami and the need for Peace in Nigeria, clamoured by Riverine Peace Initiative.
