NAKOSS Commends Kogi State Finance Commissioner for Empowering Youths with AI Skills

The National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), under the leadership of its National President, Comrade Sunday Adeola Simon, has applauded the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris, for his impactful initiative in equipping Kogi State youths with valuable skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In today’s rapidly evolving digital world, Artificial Intelligence is no longer a luxury but a necessity. From education and healthcare to finance and governance, AI is reshaping how societies function. By exposing young people in Kogi State to AI skills, the Commissioner is helping to prepare a generation of youths for opportunities in the global digital economy.
The leadership of NAKOSS describes this initiative as timely and strategic. According to the National President, empowering youths with digital and AI-related competencies will not only improve their employability but also encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving among students and young professionals across the state.
Comrade Adeola further commends the Kogi State Government for its commitment to youth development and capacity building. Initiatives like this demonstrate a forward-thinking approach to governance—one that prioritizes human capital development as a pathway to sustainable growth and economic transformation.
The association also call on other relevant stakeholders to replicate and expand such programmes. Creating more platforms for skills acquisition, digital literacy, and innovation will ensure that Kogi State youths are not left behind in the fast-paced technological era.
As a student-driven body, NAKOSS remains committed to supporting policies and programmes that uplift students and empower young people. The association looks forward to deeper collaboration with the Kogi State Government and relevant stakeholders to promote education, technology, and youth development across the state.
