Governor Ododo To Inaugurate KOCCIMA Board Of Governors Friday

The Kogi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, KOCCIMA, has announced that His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, will on Friday inaugurate the newly constituted Board of Governors of the Chamber.

The historic inauguration is scheduled to hold at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Lokoja, by 10:00 a.m.

This was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the President of KOCCIMA, Dr. Akerejola Demiloye, and signed by the 1st Deputy President, Comrade Habuh-Rajan Suleiman.

According to the statement, the inauguration marks a major milestone in the repositioning of KOCCIMA as the engine room of private sector growth and the umbrella body of Organized Private Sector in Kogi State.

The newly constituted Board of Governors comprises distinguished private sector operators, industrialists, representatives of trade groups, market associations and the small and medium enterprises sector, selected for their proven track records in commerce and industry.

The event is expected to attract captains of industry, heads of corporate organizations, members of the business community, development partners, as well as heads of relevant line ministries, departments and agencies including the Ministries of Commerce and Industry, Agriculture, Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Kogi State Investment Promotion Agency, and KOSIPA.

Dr. Demiloye noted that the inauguration of the Board comes at a time when the Ododo administration has demonstrated uncommon commitment to improving the ease of doing business, attracting investment and strengthening public-private partnership as a catalyst for the economic transformation of the state.

He added that the Board, once inaugurated, will be charged with providing strategic policy direction, deepening advocacy for private sector-friendly policies, expanding the Chamber’s membership base, and driving initiatives that will stimulate industrialization, job creation and wealth creation across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State.

KOCCIMA, as the voice of business in Kogi State and affiliate of NACCIMA, has over the years played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between government and the business community and promoting trade, commerce and investment opportunities in the Confluence State.

The President therefore invites all members of KOCCIMA, affiliated trade groups, corporate bodies and the general business community to be part of the epoch-making event.
