A divorce seeking woman has pleaded with a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Mapo, Ibadan, to save her life as her husband wants to kill her with sex.
The mother of three, Olamide Lawal, narrated to the court that her husband, Saheed Lawal, is an unrepentant drunk who beats her up and forces himself on her.
Lamenting, she said her 14 years of married life has been hell as Lawal lacks human kindness and refuses to cater for their children.
She asserted to the court that she could no longer stand him and pleaded that she be set free.
“He devotes his time to beer consumption, beating and forcing me to have sex with him. He does not provide for my children. I cannot stand him anymore,” she told the court.
She also wants the court to restrain her husband from contacting her on her mobile phone or visiting her apartment.
Lawal, however claimed remorse, stating that he has quite drinking alcohol and will start looking after their children.
He pleaded with the court to prevail on his wife to give him a second chance.
The presiding Judge, S.M. Akintayo, adjourned the matter to March 1 and advised the couple to maintain peace.
