The G37 Political support group for Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi Presidency has passed a vote of confidence on the All Progressive Congress, APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for nominating Senator Kashim Shetima as his running mate calling on Nigerians to de- emphasize religion while seeking for true leadership for the country.
National Coordinator of the Support group, Comrade Evans City stated this in Abuja while exchanging views with journalists.
He said the country at this time requires the wealth of experiences of the duo to move forward urging Nigerians to beware of religious merchants masquerading as patrots claiming to be fighting for the country .
He said there was nothing bad for Tinubu to have nominated Shetima to deputise him because the position of the vice President should be at the prerogative of the flagbearer.
On mass decamping hitting the party in Rivers State, the political activist explained that those leaving the APC in Rivers State were doing so because of their selfish and in ordinate political ambition .
He pointed accusing finger at a former senator from the state who have been desperately looking for away to take over the treasury of Rivers State as governor but has been roundly defeated by the APC governorship candidate in the State, Tonye Cole in the primaries to be the brain behind the crisis.
The National Coordinator authouritatively disclosed that the former senator had already planned to formally move to Social Democratic Party, SDP to actualise his governorship ambition which he claimed will hit the rock as members of APC in Rivers State are going to reject him again.
Comrade Evans equally commended the former Presidential aspirant of APC, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for standing firm with the party and its Presidential candidate to ensure the victory of the party in South- South and Nigeria at large come 2023 general elections.
