By joshua Mopamuro LG Workers Declare Support For Tinubu, Ododo As Workplace Security Team Visits Secretariat.
The Mopamuro Local Government Secretariat was agog on Friday as workers trooped out in large numbers to receive the Workplace Security Campaign Team on a sensitization visit to the area.
Led by their union leaders, the workers demonstrated strong support for the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Mopamuro Chapter, Comrade Joseph Gbenga, said the workers were happy with the Ododo administration because it had put a smile on their faces.
He noted that there were clear reasons to celebrate the government of the day, particularly for its commitment to the welfare of local government workers.
Comrade Gbenga also passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ododo for what he described as an impressive performance, and assured that workers were confident they would benefit more when the President and the Governor are returned to office in 2027.
In his presentation, the State Chairman of the Public Service Joint Negotiating Council, JNC, Comrade Olusegun Alemeru, explained that the visit was to intimate workers on the importance of workplace security at all levels of government.
He urged them to see the forthcoming election as a test of conscience, saying that voting for Governor Ododo and President Tinubu was sacrosanct for job security and continuity of worker-friendly policies.
Comrade Alemeru appreciated the workers for the warm reception and assured them that their concerns would be presented to the Governor for necessary action.
The leader of the Workplace Security Campaign Team, Comrade Onuh Edoka, said the sensitization was aimed at helping workers make informed decisions.
He urged unions across the state to continue to speak with one united voice, and assured that more welfare programmes were being put in place for workers in Kogi State under the present administration.
The visit ended with workers pledging renewed commitment to support the re-election of both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo in 2027.
