MODESU is a non governmental organisation championing for the survival of Democracy in Nigeria. It’s focal agenda is to provide the needed leadership for growth and development. It also stands to defend all threats militating against democracy.
The body during it’s meeting held today at ROA HOTEL in LOKOJA vehemently preached the need for viable opposition in Nigeria. It also Harped on the need for the stability of politics in order to advance the prospects of democracy in Nigeria.
This meeting as organized by MODESU today being 6th October, 2021 provided a suitable platform for all the participants to air their views. It was strongly decided without iota of doubts by all those present, to give massive support to the former governor of Kogi State Alh. Ibrahim Idris as the national Chairman of the PDP come december 2021 during the national convention. This no doubt will resolve all the lingering crises affecting the party.
Valuable comments from the participants are as follows,
Dr. Nasir stated that despite the fact that he is not a politician, he is aware of the antecedents of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris while he held sway as the former governor of our dear state. He is capable if voted in as the national Chairman of the PDP. He would used the opportunity for viable opposition to thrive.
Hon. Suleiman Alih who was at the meeting said, ‘when His Excellency Alh. Ibrahim Idris was the governor of Kogi state for 9 years, the state was viable compared to the ruling government under clueless party.
In the same vein, Hajia Rabi alluded to the positions of the first two speakers above and maintained persuasively that the coming of Alh. Ibrahim Idris as PDP national chairman would energized our party with the winning agenda for 2023 and beyond.
From the side of NARTO, Alh. M. Abubakar spoke extensively about Alh. Ibrahim Idris as the former governor of Kogi State especially about the liberalization of workable transport policies that harnessed enormous revenue returns for both the state and NARTO. Due to this, the NARTO’ leadership will give all the necessary supports for the realisation of Alh. Ibrahim Idris dream as the PDP National Chairman for 2023 and beyond.
The National Chairman of MODESU, Hon. Shittu Idris Haruna while responding to the submissions of the various speakers, praised and commended the leaderships of the various groups present at the meeting, he stated that the aspiration of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris for the Chairmanship of the party is to breath fresh air and stability into the party in order for party leadership to engender stability in the Nigerian democracy through the PDP as the only unshakable and viable political opposition party in Nigeria. He stated that all the submissions shall be communicated to the appropriate quarters and responses shall be made available to the leadership of the groups.
In his final note, he mentioned that no government can thrive without a viable opposition.
MODESU shall tour all the 36 States of the federation including Abuja in the continuation of the pursuit for the actualization of the dream of the former governor, Alh. Ibrahim Idris as national chairman of PDP.
