MAULUD NABIYYI: ASIRU IDRIS URGES MUSLIMS TO EMBRACE THE PROPHET’S LEGACY OF PEACE, COMPASSION AND UNITY

The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA, has extended warm greetings and felicitations to Muslims across Kogi State and Nigeria as they commemorate Maulud Nabiyyi, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In a message to mark the auspicious occasion, Mukadam Asiru described the celebration as a significant moment for Muslims to reflect on the exemplary life, teachings and enduring legacy of the Noble Prophet, particularly his virtues of peace, compassion, honesty, justice, humility and love for humanity.

He urged the Muslim faithful to use the occasion not merely for celebration, but as an opportunity to renew their commitment to the values of brotherhood, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and service to humanity, which were central to the Prophet’s teachings.

The Commissioner emphasised that the lessons of the Prophet’s life remain relevant to contemporary society, especially in promoting unity, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among people of diverse faiths and backgrounds.

He further called on citizens to continue supporting the efforts of the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, towards building a more peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Kogi State, stressing that sustainable development requires collective responsibility, integrity and compassion.

Mukadam Asiru prayed that the blessings of the Maulud would bring peace to Kogi State and Nigeria, strengthen the bonds of unity among the people, and inspire leaders and citizens alike to pursue justice, good governance and the common good.

“May the peace, mercy, guidance and blessings associated with the life and teachings of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) illuminate our hearts, homes and communities, and may Almighty Allah grant our state and nation lasting peace, progress and prosperity.”
