The effect of APC’s massive victory in the last general elections in Ajaokuta LGA where APC swept an incredible 13 Wards out of 14 Wards, leaving the other two major opposition political parties; PDP and NNPP in a shabby state and a shadow of itself has propelled the harvest of the remnant members in the PDP and NNPP to join the APC.
In an extraordinary meeting yesterday, July 9th, 2023, while receiving the decampees into APC, the Ajaokuta House of Representatives Member, Hon. SANNI EGIDI ABDULRAHEEM, the Ajaokuta State Assembly Member, Hon. JIBRIL ABU, the Ajaokuta APC Chairman, Mall. YAKUBU YUSUF SUPER and other critical stakeholders played host to the delegation of decampees from PDP and NNPP. Other APC leaders at the event include; Hon. SIYAKA RAJI, former SLG to Ajaokuta LGC; the SSA to GYB on political matters in charge of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. YUSUF LAMIDI ADABARA; SSA to GYB in charge of Women and Children affairs, office of the first Lady, Hon. SANDRA MUSA MIMI; the Ajaokuta APC DG Campaign in the last general elections, Hon. SALIHU ONDE and the Vice Chairman, Ododo Independent Campaign Council, (ICC), Mr. ABDULAZEEZ ISAH.
The entire NNPP structure in Ajaokuta LGA led by it’s LGA Chairman, Mall. ZUKA OKIKIRI and the NNPP House of Assembly Candidate in the last general election, Mr. LUCKY, all the 14 ward NNPP party chairmen, ward youth leaders, secretaries, women leaders and other critical NNPP stakeholders in Ajaokuta LGA has agreed to the collapse of it’s party structure into the APC.
In a similar vain, the Ajaokuta PDP has been badly hit by defections to the APC. Physically present today at the meeting at the delegation of it’s decampees were the overall PDP youth leader of Ajaokuta Steel Township, Mr M.J EZU; the Steel Township PDP Secretary, Mr. NEWTON AKAABA; the Steel Township PDP co-ordinator, Mall. ADOKE LAMIDI; representatives of Steel Township PDP estate coordinators and other youths; Ganaja and it’s environs/Unosi Ward PDP coordinator, Mr. PAUL IGOH. Others include PDP stakeholders from Achagana ward, Mr. JUSTICE SADIQ, AZEEZ OYOKIYO, BAKO, PDP media Aides, some PDP ward youth leaders, ward secretaries, ward PROs and other PDP stakeholders.
Speaking at the extraordinary meeting, all the speakers from the decamped PDP and NNPP members all attested to the great leadership qualities of the Ajaokuta House of Reps Member, Hon. SANNI EGIDI ABDULRAHEEM and the Ajaokuta House of Assembly Member, Hon. JIBRIL Abu who were recently inaugurated at the National and State Assemblies to represent the people. The speakers further emphasized that it has come to the point for them to make a drastic U-turn and identify with Governor YAHAYA BELLO’s monumental achievements in kogi state in the last 7 years of the NEW DIRECTION GOVERNMENT. They also conclude that they have decided to join the APC to be part of the forthcoming history as Ododo’s victory as the next governor of kogi state is sacrosanct because the Ododo project is Kogi project that has accepted and embraced in all the nook and cranny of Kovi state wide.
While commending the decampees for picking up the bold courage to identify with Ajaokuta APC ahead of the forthcoming kogi guber polls and haven decided to pitch their tent with the ODODO/JOEL project 2023, Hon. SANNI EGIDI ABDULRAHEEM assured the visitors that, in line with the principles of Governor YAHAYA BELLO’s Rules Of Engagement, they will henceforth be regarded as full APC members and will be considered with all the benefits accrued to the Ajaokuta APC as one big family.
The Ajaokuta APC party chairman, Mall. YAKUBU YUSUF also felicitated with the new decampees, urging them to fell free and work assiduously for APC/Ododo come November, 2023. The Party Chairman emphasized that Alh. USMAN ODODO of the APC is a well accepted candidate that has the Kogi coverage to win the forthcoming election, urging them to join the campaign train of Ajaokuta to deliver 100% votes for APC/Ododo come November 11 by God’s grace.
A committee of both the APC party structure and the decampees, however, will be put in place to further produce a blueprint to organize a mass decamping rally that will showcase all the decamped members in the shortest time.
