Scout Leader of the 1st Crowther Memorial College Scout Troop, Hon. Mamman Nda Eri, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Scout Association of Nigeria to nurturing disciplined, responsible and self-reliant young Nigerians capable of contributing meaningfully to national development.
Hon. Eri made the assertion during a courtesy visit by members of the 1st Crowther Memorial College Scout Troop to the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Kankarofi, in Lokoja.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Eri thanked the Commissioner of Police for receiving the troop and for his words of encouragement, describing the visit as a source of inspiration for the young Scouts.
He said the Scout Movement remains committed to building youths with integrity, patriotism, leadership qualities and a strong spirit of community service through practical activities such as camping, skills acquisition and character development.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Kankarofi, commended the Scout Movement for its enduring role in moulding responsible citizens and promoting positive values among young people. He described camping as an important aspect of scouting that develops resilience, teamwork, leadership and survival skills.
CP Kankarofi urged the Scouts to embrace discipline, honesty, obedience and self-reliance, stressing that these virtues are essential for every Nigerian youth aspiring to become productive members of the society. He encouraged them to remain worthy ambassadors of their schools, communities and the nation.
Also speaking, National Trainer and Scouter Per Excellence, Comrade Abdulazeez Osori, charged the Scouts to remain faithful to the Scout Promise and Law, noting that discipline and responsibility are the foundation of effective leadership and good citizenship. He urged them to distinguish themselves through exemplary conduct and positive influence wherever they find themselves.

The visit concluded with a renewed pledge by the Scouts to continue developing practical life skills through scouting activities while promoting discipline, service and self-reliance as responsible citizens.
