Maiden Graduation/Prize-Giving Ceremony of FULokoja Staff School: FUL Lokoja Staff Secondary School Takes-off In September – FUL VC


 

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, and members of the University Management at the weekend attended the pupils at the Maiden Graduation/Prize Giving Ceremony of the FULokoja Staff School which took place at the Adankolo Campus, Federal University Lokoja (FUL).

 

 

The Vice-Chancellor in his address thanked the Management of the Staff School under the auspices of the Administrator and Secretary, Institute of Education, Mrs. Habiba A. Adeiza (Pioneer Registrar, FUL), the Head of the School, Dr. Adefokun S. Idowu, as well as the committed teachers for their painstaking efforts in moulding these future leaders.

Professor Akinwumi promised more support from the University Management to the Staff School, adding that arrangements were on top gear for the smooth take-off of the Secondary School in the new session (September). The Vice-Chancellor who presented prizes to all the pupils personally donated cash gifts to the graduands.

In his thought-provoking lecture titled “Education: the Key to Unlocking a Future of Unlimited Possibilities,” Professor Gbenga Ibileye, who is the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies and Guest Speaker at the auspicious ceremony, charged the graduating pupils to be steadfast and diligent in their educational pursuit, saying education can unlock many doors of opportunities if they work hard.

Earlier while giving her opening remarks, the Administrator thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his Management Team for conceiving the idea of the Staff School and bringing it to realization. Mrs. Adeiza, who expressed gratitude to the teachers for their patience, hard work, and dedication to duty, equally thanked the parents for the confidence reposed in them.

Also, there were addresses delivered by the P.T.A. Chairman, Mr. Paul Agada, and the outgoing Head-girl of the School, Favour Augustine; while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Adefokun Idowu, the Head of the Staff School.

Other highlights of the colourful event were: quiz competition, debate, presentations by all the classes, and dance performances by the various ethnic groups, who displayed their rich cultural heritage to the admiration of the parents/guardians and guests.
